Welcome to The Music School

We specialise in teaching music on a ‘one -on-one’ basis for most popular instruments. This is what we’re good at. We are not a music shop and we don’t sell any music books or instruments.

We cover all styles from Classical and Blues right through to Punk and Metal and everything in between.

Though the majority of our students are children, about 35% of our clientele are adults. We don’t mind how old you are as we teach all ages. We have taught people from the age of 4 to 74. 

Don’t feel self-conscious about not having played before, as this is how we all began! It doesn’t matter that you’ve had no experience in playing music - as long as you have the passion to pursue music, we will guide you in achieving your goals.

If you would like to learn how to read music, then we will gladly show you how. However, depending on the instrument and style, it is not always necessary to learn how to read standard musical notation.

This is especially true for guitar. The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, U2, and Green Day, just to name a few, do not read a note of music between them!

Instrument Hire

There is no need to buy an instrument - we will give you FREE HIRE of a guitar or violin with your term of lessons. You can use them during the lesson and then take them home to practice with, just like they were your own.

Please note that the ‘free hire’ applies only to acoustic guitars and violins. There is a hiring fee for our electric guitars, bass and amplifiers.

Guitars and violins are the only instruments that you can hire directly from The Music School.

For the hiring of all other instruments, we can put you in touch with an instrument hire company that will provide the instrument you require.
